Hey, it’s me, your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman! I have the day off from fighting crime, so I figured I’d hop online and say hi to all of my adoring fans – haha, just kidding! I’m really here to spread an important message of how YOU can help me and the rest of the Avengers save the world from our biggest threat EVER – like even worse than Thanos – climate change. Villains don’t always come in the form of mad scientists with giant robotic octopus arms or journalists covered in evil alien symbiotes, they can also look like large companies that mass manufacture cheap, trendy but cheaply made clothes. One of the reasons these big nasty companies are real bad for the environment is because they pollute the air with CO2 emissions – it’s hard work web-slinging through the smog – but that’s not all! They fill the water with microplastics, create dangerous working conditions for the people making the clothes… I could go on and on and on and on and on.
“Gosh Spiderman, that’s terrible! What can I do to help?”
Well, good civilian, thanks for asking. Instead of shopping at the big, cheap stores at the mall or online, you could try looking to your local thrift store and shopping second hand. When I was a kid, my Aunt May used to buy almost all of my clothes second hand, because it’s also super affordable! So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and save the world in style!
